I have been watching an assortment of movies/series/videos, through this past week. The highlights are:
# 101 Dalmatians – Yet again, this classic has ensured that my love for dogs increase everytime I watch it. Kudos, Walt Disney!
# Wuthering Heights – Now I know what tragedy is.
# The 55th Idea Filmfare Awards – Thanks to a certain Rahul Kumar, and our intranet IP messenger; this was a complete entertainer. Shah Rukh and Saif as comperes, Shahid Kapoor’s tribute to Michael Jackson, ‘Iktara’ won the best female vocals and ‘Masakalli’ won the best male vocals – completely well deserved!
# Tooth Fairy – Although the concept isnt much of an uproar in our part of the world, it was simply hilarious to see ‘The Rock’ in a pretty pink dress and Julie Andrews was super too!
# Family Guy – This serious is just mad! I thought the funniest thing on the planet was South Park, until I was introduced to the Griffin family (Thank you, Reetika). They have the most mad story lines, and Stewie speaks the best British english ever! The dos is the most sensibile in the family, and sips on dry martinis! I remember one of the episodes were shown in one of our Public Relations class ‘Screenings’, and even though half the class was asleep, the other half were rolling off their chairs! Ridhima was utterly astounded on more than one occassion! Yes, they have adult content!!
# Love in the time of Cholera – Brilliant, brilliant movie. On a more serious note, but what a story, and a superb soundtrack!
# Lord of the Rings – I watch this series whenever I get bored of everything in life! I also just finished reading ‘The Hobbit’, and cant wait for Peter Jackson’s version of it in 2011!
# It’s Complicated – Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin, Steve Martin. Recent release, very nice music, one time watch, but i still wonder why this woman has not yet, won herself an Academy Award! Also watching this movie brought back certain ambitions I used to have of owning a Pâtisserie; hope I will be able to do it someday.
# Elf – A Will Ferrel movie, rather entertaining!
# 3 Idiots – Yes, I watched it again! I simply cannot forget the time all of us went to Hadapsar (a place off main Pune city, as we know it, which Richa likes to call ‘Hurdspur’) to watch it on Christmas, and we were all, yes holding onto the chair handles to prevent ourselves from falling off them! Hyped beyond merit, I agree, but this movie is funny!
# Must Love Dogs – A standard romantic comedy starring Diane Lane and John Cusack and a newfoundland hound by the name of ‘Mother Teresa’. I have always wanted a dog to keep with myself, and the dream one was a Beagle, but now I have changed my mind! A newfoundland hound is what I want now! She was the most beautiful thing in the world, must watch for her, and the song which plays in the opening credits called ‘When will I be loved’ by Linda Ronstadt.
Lined up for tonight are:
1. Ace Ventura (by Rohini’s recommendation)
2. Did you hear about the Morgans? (Ah, Hugh Grant and SJP)
3. Ice Age Series
What would people do without external hard disks?
