Photograph albums were one of my favourite pastimes growing up, and even though I’ve managed to scan most of the pictures and saved them in my external hard drives, I refer to them from time to time, when I’m in Muscat or Calcutta.
It is a very difficult task – to pick a favourite picture of myself. I’ve been lucky to have parents with the love of documentation (Yes, that’s where I get it from) and then overtly talented shutterbug friends, so you can imagine that I’ve had to go through a lot of folders before I settled on one.
I’ve chosen this particular picture because it invariably makes me gush with happy memories and brings an irresistible urge to walk barefoot on a beach!

This one was taken when I was around five or six, and being a brat at the Shatti beach in Qurum, Muscat. On one of those fabulous sunny weekend afternoons, where Ma and Baba took me to the beach with my pail and spade. They relaxed while I splashed around, wrote things on the sand, and made castles. Such good times.
And if I may, a special mention to some other photographs of mine that I love, and heartfelt gratitude to the people who took them 🙂
Milan, for this one at the shady GK salon!
Ranjan, for the chobi with the kaaarls at Shoi’s wedding.
Ambika, for the candid monochrome.
Kanishk (perhaps), for my stage shot 🙂
Unknown paid photographer for my first birthday picture
&
Basu, for the one I didn’t know was being taken.
