Spent almost all my time looking for an apartment in vain. Not to miss not having a vehicle to drive one from broker to broker, an apartment with violently violet ceilings to another with only the first layer of plaster in place. Frustrating spelt out in caps.
I hate being a nomad. The irony lies in the fact that I have been raised in the Middle East. However, i have never had it so difficult to find a decent place to stay. Costs keep soaring onto unimaginable levels and my mind is constantly tangled into labyrinths leading me nowhere. Another two weeks to move out of my dingy one room PG and I have no place to go.
As another disaster, I watched Aisha. Despite my disregard to label Sonam Kapoor as an actor (based on her previous disastrous performances), Amit Trivedi’s music made me purchase a last minute ticket to the movie. And what a ride. The music was undoubtedly brilliant. ‘Gal Mitthi Mitthi Bol’ is definitely making the playlists to all upcoming weddings and ‘Sham’ is differently nice! Abhay Deol was wasted and Arunoday Singh was unbearable. Let me not get started on Sonam Kapoor. In short, just buy a pirated DVD and download the songs from songs.pk. Save yourself INR 200.
However, as a silver lining, I could manage to get my client profiled in Hindustan Times, and pat on the back to myself for that! Yes, a MASSIVE pat!
There has also been a major development in my lifestyle. Don’t know if it’s my general distaste in life currently or Rohini’s bantering over the years that I have taken a genuine liking to vegetarian food. In fact I no longer like non vegetarian stuff (apart from that American breakfast. Now, no one can say no to that!). I find myself enjoying the Malai Kofta more than Butter Chicken and the Veggie Lovers is my favourite at Pizza Hut! It’s quite nice and saves me money too, so yay!
To reiterate on what I have been cribbing about in previous posts, I need a break. I need to leave the country for a while. Fine, maybe longer than a while. Parents are planning a trip to Masai Mara in September, and I will be sitting here in Gurgaon, day after day, compiling news summaries and looking for profiling opportunities for a channel which chooses to cover floods in north Pakistan instead of the huge calamity at Leh. This is what I have chosen to do.
My DSLR has been lying dead for over two months now. I do not have the time to buy it a replacement charger. I miss being mobile.
Since people no longer write good fiction novels, I have taken to torrents again. A random post on facebook introduced me to ‘The Vampire Diaries’. The content is the usual – blood sucking, one good guy – one bad guy vampire brothers, cant step in the sun, can listen to thoughts, falls in love with a mortal and the works! What is really awesome about the series is their OST. Discovered a bunch of amazing songs, and they’re now the high of my life now.
More later, and I’m hoping the posts will be less murky.
