I am back in Pune. I hope this is last time, fingers crossed to my unending saga of a backlog per semester!
Flew back from Kolkata all by myself. A first timer again. The horrid 5 hours and 15 minutes flight via Delhi, was made worse by a delay in takeoff from Kolkata. Although it gives me a lot of kicks that in one journey, the aircraft takes off and lands twice! Double paisa vasool =D, this time was rather mundane. I had 2 Manipuri women sitting beside me. The lanugage barrier, and lack of subjects to talk about left them asleep most of the time, and I was absorbed into ‘The Hobbit’ by JRR Tolkien, which I recently bought from Starmark, South City, Kolkata.
Personally, I have not been able to take a fancy to the food served (i.e, it is served, once you pay for it) aboard Spice Jet. I am still quite partial to the spinach and corn sandwiches that are available on Air Indigo flights!
While I was taking off from Kolkata, Ridhima called, and I picked up hesitantly, and heard the nicest news in a while! She had gotten through Edelman too, and they had emailed us the formal appointment letter. Much low paying that I expected, or maybe even deserve; but I have a job!
I have always wanted to be a part of an agency, but the money factor was a serious restraint. Also, the location factor is still a sort of hindrance in my mind. Nevertheless, I have made up mind, that this is what is referred to as the ‘struggle period’ by my parents in their you-are-now-an-adult gyaan. So, its a new city, it has extreme weather conditions, it is considered unsafe for single girls, the pay is not mind blowing, but I am going to give it a shot. Somewhere inside, there is a voice which says that this is the right thing to do.
Edelman at Gurgaon, here I come.
